Frequently Asked Questions for Visitors

Can I attend the Reed Gift Fairs?
You must be a retailer and have an operating outlet selling gift products, homewares, fashion, or jewellery / accessories. Proof of business must be shown in order to register. Please refer to the Registration form for details.  

How much is entry?
Entry is free. However, the fair is trade only and is not opened to the public.

How do I register?
You can register before the fair or at the fair. 
If you have a Gift Industry Card, you do not have to re-register.

*Pre-register more than 2 weeks prior to commencement of the Reed Gift Fairs and have your Gift Industry Card sent to you before that Fair*

2.  Provide supporting documentation
  You will need to provide the following:
     .    2 x business identification showing your
            involvement in the gift, homewares,
            fashion or jewellery/accessories industry. 
            Business Identification accepted:
                              - business registration
                              - company order book
                              - supplier invoice
                              - business card relevant to the
                                industry
                              - company credit card
     .    1 x Personal Identification
             Personal identification accepted:
                              - drivers license
                              - Australian identity card
                              - passport
     .    Written proof of your ABN

* Once the 2 week cut-off has passed you may still pre-register though there is no guarantee your Gift Industry Card will be sent before that Fair. Otherwise, you may choose to register on-site on the day.

Please Note: Registration closes at 12:00pm on the last day of the Fair.


What is a Gift Industry Card?

A Gift Industry Card is the card issued to Reed Gift Fair buyers once they have registered to attend a Reed Gift Fair. The Gift Industry Card (which looks similar to a credit card) is valid for several years and will give the holder full access to all Reed Gift Fairs and GHA Fairs in any state. The Gift Industry Card is non-transferable.

Can I take a guest with me to the fair and how many?
Holders of a Gift Industry Card may invite one accompanying guest. Your guest does not need to fill out a registration form. Simply ask for a guest pass on entry to the fair.

Conditions for bringing a guest
      -   Guests must stay with their registered visitor
      -   Guests may not order or purchase goods under any circumstances
      -   Guests are not permitted entry on the last day of the fair

I am about to open my business and have not registered my business yet – can I still gain entry?
You must be working for, or operating a business within the gift, homewares, kitchenware, jewellery or fashion/accessories industry. If you are unable to provide the necessary documents please call +61 (0)2 9422 8686 to discuss.

I’d like to receive information about the Fairs – please place me on your mailing list
Email your name and postal details and which Fairs you are interested in to inez.barrett@reedexhibitions.com.au.

I’d like to buy MILIEU (trade guide)
MILIEU or Fair directory / trade guide is produced for each Fair. MILIEU has a full list of all the exhibitors exhibiting at that particular fair. It is available for purchase for $14 and is distributed 2 weeks prior to the event. MLIEU is also available for purchase at the Fair.

To order your copy of MILIEU:
   1.  Download the order form (PDF 38KB)
   2.  Fax the completed form to +61 (0)2 9993 8320.

I have not received my complimentary MILIEU guide
Complimentary guides (MILIEU) are mailed to those visitors who attended the same Fair in the previous year. For example if you attended Reed Gift Fairs Melbourne August 2007, then you will be entitled to a free copy of the Reed Gift Fairs Melbourne August 2008 MILIEU guide. If you believe you are entitled to a free guide and have not received one, please call +61 (0)2 9422 8686.

I lost my Gift Industry Card, can I get another one?
Yes. Call Info Salons on +61 (0)2 9211 7544 to have your old card cancelled and a new one sent out.
Please note that a replacement cost of $15 will apply.

I need to update my address/details
Fax your new details along with your previous address/contact details to Info Salons on +61 (0)2 9211 7472. Or
Email your new details along with your previous address/contact details to Info Salons on reedgiftfairs@infosalons.com.au

Can I bring my children to the Gift fair?
Admission is restricted to people 14 years and over. If your child is 24 months or under, parents can sign a disclaimer at the Fair and obtain a ‘Pram Pass’.

Free Children’s Activity Centre is provided for children aged 12 months to 14 years. Fully accredited child carers staff the Children’s Activity Centre. The maximum stay is two hours to ensure that there is a proper carer-to-child ratio. It runs on a first come first served basis. No bookings are taken.

I want to book accommodation close to the venue.

They provide discounted rates for buyers attending the Reed Gift Fairs.

What is your Cash Sales Policy?
Reed Gift Fairs practice a strict ‘No Cash Sales’ policy. This means that buyers are only permitted to place orders with exhibitors. Products cannot be removed from the exhibition floor. Security at the fair enforce this policy.

I want to attend the Business Development Programs.
Business Development Programs are run at each of the Reed Gift Fairs. A selection of highly accredited speakers conduct the seminars and provide buyers with new and innovative ways to build their businesses.

What is a Credit Application?
Some exhibitors require that buyers provide them with trade references before placing an order. Exhibitors will either supply buyers with a credit application form, or alternatively you can download a credit application form to take with you onsite.

I need to book a wheelchair
Wheelchairs are booked through the venue at which the Fair is being held. Please contact the centres via telephone to make a booking.
